My name is Obwapus James. I am 14 years old, and my life is a testimony that God is faithful, even in the hardest circumstances.

I was born HIV positive. When I was only three months old, both of my parents died from HIV-related illness. Before I even knew what life was, I had already experienced great loss. Humanly speaking, my future seemed uncertain.

But God had another plan.

My grandmother, despite having very little, took me in and raised me with love. My sister also cared for me like a mother, encouraging me and standing beside me through every challenge. Their love reminded me that even when I lost my parents, God had not abandoned me.

Living with HIV has not always been easy. There were times when I felt discouraged, afraid, and wondered what my future would be. Yet God continued to carry me. He gave me strength for each day and surrounded me with people who cared.

One of the greatest blessings God brought into my life was Adored International Ministries. Through their love, support, and encouragement, I found renewed hope. They believed in me, invested in my life, and reminded me that my diagnosis does not define my destiny. They helped me grow, dream again, and pursue a better future.

One special gift that has deeply impacted my life is the Blessing Box that Jessica Fischer gave to us to keep at the Adored International Ministries home. Ever since we got it, I have made it a habit to write down the blessings God gives me. On difficult days, I look back at those blessings and remember that God has never stopped being faithful. What once seemed like small moments have become powerful reminders that His goodness surrounds me every day.

Today, I stand with gratitude. I am thankful for God’s grace, for my grandmother and sister, for Adored International Ministries, and for everyone who has walked this journey with me. Most of all, I thank God because He has never left me. He has turned my pain into purpose and my struggles into a testimony.

I want others to know that no matter where you come from or what challenges you face, God is still faithful. Your situation is not the end of your story. With faith, hope, and the support of people who love you, you can overcome obstacles and live a life filled with purpose.

Instead of asking, “Why me?” I have learned to ask, “Lord, how can You use my life to bless others?”

If my story encourages even one person to keep believing, then every trial I have faced has not been in vain.
